How to choose the right appliance repair company
As is the case with anything – it’s not always easy when it comes to finding a good, dependable appliance repair service in the Tampa area. There’s lots of options – not only in the breadth of services offered, but also in how certain companies charge, the area they cover, etc.
Today, we’ll be offering up a few tips you can use to make the process a little bit less arduous. Let’s jump right in!
Start with who you know
Referrals are always powerful – particularly from people you know. While we can talk about marketing and the like – at the end of the day – the quality of work is what will shine brightest and people will do work with those who they like, know and trust – so start there. Ask you friends. Ask your colleagues. Ask your family. Who have they used? What work did they get done? How expensive was it? Was the company responsive?
More often than not, this can be a great place to start your research.
Go online, but with a grain of salt
We both encourage and discourage reading into online reviews – but view it as another tool. Complaining online is the new national pastime and as the research suggests, most people really only leave detailed reviews when something goes wrong. But as hard as that can be to read, sometimes it is beneficial to get a window into the worst case scenario. In addition – there’s no such thing as a perfect business – especially in our line of work, us included. Things happen every day in and out of the control of a business owner’s company that can impact specific relationships – but that are also isolated incidents. Read through those reviews, but just do so knowing the context.
Be a little wary of flat rates and shop around a bit.
Flat rate repairs sound enticing – but the truth is it’s also really hard to do. Why? Because without knowing the extent of the repair, it’s really hard to price it fairly. In some cases, sure, the company could be taking a bath not charging enough for something more extensive, but the opposite is most harmful to you where a repair could be significantly less and you might be overpaying. To the company – it comes out in the wash – but for you? That’s no good.
Look for companies that provide solid estimates.
Second, don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Get a solid list of 3-4 finalists and shop your offers around to get the best deal you can. Some companies are more than happy to play ball. Also, shopping around can give you a window into the company itself. Are they responsive? Are they patient with you? Do they call back when they say they will? This can all help find the right fit for you.
Hopefully these tips help take the edge off finding an appliance repair company in Tampa. If you have questions or are interested in our services, feel free to give us a call today! Until then – good luck!
